Hello all you ADAAP followers,
Here is a little bit of important information to consider when looking for alcohol rehab treatment it is important that an individual check out all that the alcohol rehab facility has to offer. Alcohol rehab can be different at whatever facility a person chooses. An alcohol abuse rehab can have many different meanings and components. A recovery center could mean a long term residential treatment center, short-term inpatient alcohol treatment or treatment programs that could be conducted on an outpatient or intensive outpatient basis.

An alcohol rehab center may treat individuals for alcohol abuse, alcohol addiction treatment or for
substance abuse treatment. You may be asking what does that mean. It means that these types of facilities for the treatment for substance abuse or dependency may not only treat persons with alcohol problems but for other substances as well, these substances may include marijuana, cocaine, heroin, opioid, anabolic steroids, benzodiazepines and a variety of other types of substances.

An addiction treatment center should include a well-rounded program that provides an educational curriculum that addresses the physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual components of the disease of addiction. Many rehabilitation programs do not include these components they merely address the behavioral issue. Since alcohol abuse and addiction is more than just a behavioral problem it is imperative that all components be addressed in order to help the individual be successful in their day-to-day lives.

It is important that a substance abuse treatment program includes a family component for a person’s addiction rehab. An individual’s family and support system can make or break their recovery. As professionals in the field of substance abuse rehabilitation we have seen individuals succeed when they are grounded in a strong and stable support system. The opposite is true as well, we have seen many individuals relapse over and over again because they did not have a stable support system, had not dealt with the underlying issues and were unwilling to ask for help. Therefore educating the family and the individual’s support system needs to be addressed if the person truly wants to be successful in their recovery. At Austin Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program we offer individual and family drug and
alcohol counseling to address many of the issues a person may be facing. There are many other
alcohol rehab centers that do not address all the components included in our program.
